Last Saturday was a fairly special kind of day with a whole bunch of lead up events to my 21st party that night.

Saturday did start kind of slow actually with not much do'in in the morning. Just a light ride with my sister Kylie who is back from the UK for a few weeks. The idea in the morning was to try and wear her out as she had arrived on Thursday night and was still complaining about jetlag. So we headed toward Ringwood following the trails where the freeway will eventually go through. This was a great cruisy ride which ended up being a good 2hr ride over a pretty big loop – (Kylie went back to sleep after this).

Home in time for lunch and some fresh kit I was off again to Rob Eva's house for a big MTB ride around some of his backyard secret trails. This was a good 4hr ride. What can I say, the ride was eventful. Sassy sting, Wedding Portraits – yes you read right. and some great company. Garron Buckland was really excited – he was on his new bike – a Specialized Marathon Carbon job – pretty light and "shmick".

The weirdest thing on the ride was a bride having wedding shots with us, a whole bunch of riders in Lycra! Not a huge story to be had really we had a quick stop on the trails waiting to all regroup and the next thing you know we are having some quality happy snaps!      …read more »
